Short Summary for On-line use: Education in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Process Technology (BSc-level). Later a post-academic education in Production Logistics Management. Lots of short courses in chemistry, process technology, foreign languages (DE,EN,FR), Management, Safety and IT. Worked a total of 13 years in chemistry labs (pharmaceutics industry, fine chemicals plant), 10 years as a production engineer in fine chemical plant, 5 years in operations management (chemical, food, basic metal production, sewage water treatment). Formal linguistic education: none. Experience in clear writing and translation on the jobs in mostly the chemical part of my career, and in writing for the company paper. So not a linguist who understands some technique, but a first rate engineer with an over-average control of foreign languages and his mother tongue. Not good for a translation of Goethe or Shakespeare, but to be preferred for technical texts. My preferred types of text are user manuals, operation manuals, maintenance manuals etc, best the huge ones for complex installations.
